My girl lost her first top tooth tonight after a very painful process of Shawn and I convincing her to let us pull it out. So that's two on bottom and one on top. Way to go Kaylee!
A good portion of my life has been spent playing the piano for everyone else's diva moments. Now it's my turn. I invite you to accompany ME through my life's diva and, well, not so diva-like moments. It'll be entertaining. Promise.

A Day at the Park
9/29/08
Last Saturday we took the kids down to Cole Park. It was a beautiful day - we got some chicken and had a picnic, then played on the swings and took a walk on the pier. I love Corpus in September when you get the first hint of the coolness to come after a long, hot summer. My morning jogs have been so nice with the lows now in the mid 60's - I love it!

One of the very few times you will see Aaron asleep in his car seat - what a life!

Here are the rules:
Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours. Tag 6 fellow bloggers by linking them. Leave a comment on each of the tagged blogger’s blogs letting them know they’ve been tagged.
This is the first time I've done this "tagged" thing, so hopefully I'm doing it right.
Here are my 6 quirks:
1. I have a REALLY hard time beginning a new book - I absolutely love them once I'm into a good one, but for some unknown reason it takes me forever to start one.
2. I can't stand it when people slow down when approaching a green light. Yellow, I understand...green, I don't get.
3. I eat ice cream REALLY slowly - I just love to eat it slow and savor the taste in my mouth, plus I used to get headaches as a kid eating it fast.
4. I hate "saggy butt" pants. You know when you wash them a few times if they're made of cheap material and stretch out you start getting saggy in the butt...can't STAND it!
5. I crave anything sweet and mostly chocolate after a meal...sad, but true.
6. I love vacumming and mowing the lawn...love the fresh clean look when it's done.

Happy Birthday Schweetie!
9/13/08
Today is my honey's 36th birthday! We celebrated mostly last night at Rudy and Patsy's house with fajitas and cake and ice cream. Today he got a new outfit which I can't wait to post a picture of as soon as he gets back from running an errand - he looks so handsome in it!
Happy birthday Shawn! I'm SO glad you were born. :)
As to the hurricane-non-hurricane event, well, that pretty well sums it up. I feel bad for the poor people in Houston and Galveston who got slammed and hope they are all OK. We looked in vain all night and this morning for even tropical storm conditions and got natta, nutin, zip. So down the boards came from the windows (I have pictures of that too I'll post soon). Thanks for all your calls and concern...it's nice to know you're loved.

We Started A Garden!
9/9/08
Well, we finally did it! These pictures are from last weekend. Shawn spent the Monday before that preparing the soil with the tiller. We went to the nursery on Friday to get seeds and transplants and on Saturday we hoed and planted! We planted roma tomatoes, cucumbers, corn, green peppers, onions, carrots, zucchini, yellow squash, and strawberries. Now we'll see if we get anything out of it. I can't wait to see everything start growing.

Fun Days with Gianna and Co.
9/4/08
My good friend Gianna came to stay for four days with three of her four children. They left this morning and I have felt lonely all day! I have known Gianna for about 6 years. We became friends in Baton Rouge and have kept in touch throughout the years. Gianna is an amazing mother. I watched in awe as she handled her twin one-year-old girls and three-year-old little boy. With her husband in basic training for the Air Force for the last six weeks she has had her hands full, but she is the most amazingly patient person I know - learned a lot from her and loved the spirit she and her family brought to our home. We braved the Corpus heat and spent some time on walks and in the park with the kids. Here are a few pics. Collin, Avery, and Ashlynn are cuties and so fun to watch. We miss you guys - thanks for the fun visit!
