A good portion of my life has been spent playing the piano for everyone else's diva moments. Now it's my turn. I invite you to accompany ME through my life's diva and, well, not so diva-like moments. It'll be entertaining. Promise.

2 years old!!

We had a fun time on Aaron's birthday this year. We spent the morning here...
It's a new park the city recently opened right by the American Bank Center and the bay downtown. It has a bunch of fountains that make for a really nice time on a hot summer morning.
My friend Katie joined us with her baby Holly - I was grateful for the adult conversation!
Blurry picture...but you get the sense of play we have here...
Two beautiful kids and a beautiful bay

Time for the party...the big hit of the evening were the two Tonka trucks (thanks Grandma and Grandpa Wadley!) This boy can't get enough of cars and trucks.
Or building things... Break in the action to go observe the big truck picking up our huge pile of brush and trees from the storm a few weeks ago...
We had fun with the hats and noisemakers...
He blew out the candles by himself this year right on cue! I was so excited!

How can life get any better?!I forgot to take pics of the dinner...Shawn brought home happy meals with freh frah (how Aaron says french fries). The little man didn't quite get what all the attention was for, but he sure loved it!! Fun times :)

We love you Aaron and are so glad you came to join our family!!

Recital Time!!

Kaylee spent the majority of Friday nights and Saturday mornings for the last several months rehearsing for Oz! The Musical. Her dance studio put on the production last Saturday and it was great! Kaylee THRIVES on this sort of thing...can't wait for every rehearsal and is sad when it's all over. She auditioned for a speaking/singing role in January and was cast as a winged monkey. She had several lines throughout the second act and a few songs with the other monkeys. So fun!!! We couldn't take pics during the actual performance, but here's a few after.
My cute little winged monkey!

End of the Year Activities

It's that time of the year again. Awards assemblies, end-of-the-year parties, etc. Here are a few of ours this year:

Kay's award assembly. As usual, she excelled. Top AR points in her grade, music award, straight A's for the year. Such a school girl. :)

This is Kaylee with Serina at the Achievement Days social this past Wednesday. The moms and the Primary Presidency were invited and it was a really nice program where they showed and talked to us about things they worked on during the year. They sewed the pillows themselves, and sewed part of the humanitarian bags for the church welfare program. They also worked on a Family Group Sheet for family history. We ended the evening with treats and a game of Apples to Apples Junior. So fun!

Future Trumpet Player

So, we recently discovered that our little guy has a natural trumpet embouchure...who knew?! Must take after his daddy. :) Check this out: (Sorry for the filming and picture quality...you'll get the general idea)

We need to work on the hand position, but not bad right? Most kids, when you have them blow on one of those instruments - the first thing they'll do is puff out their cheeks when they blow, which is NOT what your supposed to do. No puffy cheeks on this little man! He knew just what to do - what a lover!
