A good portion of my life has been spent playing the piano for everyone else's diva moments. Now it's my turn. I invite you to accompany ME through my life's diva and, well, not so diva-like moments. It'll be entertaining. Promise.

A Red Day

"On bright red days how good it feels to be a horse and kick my heels."
-My Many Colored Days by Dr. Seuss

I have two words.

1.  Blood
2.  Ketchup

Both ended up on various parts of the mall floor, school cafeteria table, boy's shirt, boy's shorts, boy's arm, my shorts and mall bathroom floor.

Did you know that ketchup is a good substitue for paint?  My boy taught me that today in his sister's school cafeteria whilst I was busily bouncing baby on one knee while handing out the contents of three happy meals and breaking open two toys.  (No, I didn't need my toy.  Yet.)  I look over and he is attentively fingerpainting the ketchup all over his arm.  Luckily, I catch it before he gets it on his or my clothes.  That happens later after he has it on his hands.  But that's OK, because it matches perfectly with the dried blood from his bloody nose 2 hours earlier at the mall.  Smart boy, he knows how to keep his colors matching.  All I need now is some red dye and we'll have a brand new shirt.

Yes, there are many different colored days Dr. Seuss, and although there was no horses or kicking involved, ours was definitely a red day.

Look what I woke up to this morning!

MMmmmmm...Yummy Alton Brown crepes with citrus sauce.  My schweetie is the baking bomb and I love him!
My girl is old enough not only to take pictures of her scary looking mom first thing in the morning, she's also old enough to buy me presents with her own hard-earned money!!
She was so excited.  Kept these hidden from me for a month!
A girl after my own heart.  I love her.
Other birthday happenings:  a trip to San An next week for Time Out for Women....YAY!  So excited.  Also, a trip to the beach and Snoopy's tomorrow with the fam...can't wait!

Oh, and check out my new blog.  It will be more of a "life according to koth" type blog rather than updates on kiddos.

Twill be fun!

Another Year...

Tomorrow I turn 36.  There is nothing special about turning 36.  No five or ten year milestone, and no over-the-hillness yet (although it's creeping up far too quickly for me).  It's just....thirty-six.   So, what am I going to do with this 36th year of my life, you ask?  So glad you asked...lemme tell ya.

#1.  I'm going to watch and marvel at my kids turning another year older themselves - 10, 3, and 1.

#2.  I'm going to experience my first Time-Out for Women.  That's right, not for toddlers, for women!

#3.  I'm going to master Carrie Underwood's "Cowboy Casanova" moves on my Wii Country Dance.

#4.  I'm going to finish my afghan.....ok, ok, I will finish 2/3rds of my afghan....maybe.  (It's only been 15 years since I started).  (I'm in no rush).  (I intend it to be used in my coffin).

#5.  I'm going to stop eating chocolate chips for snacks and move onto something more nutritious, like chocolate covered pretzels or chocolate covered peanuts, or chocolate covered peanut butter or a whole freaking bag of Reeses..........ok.  i'm done now.  just had to get that off my chest.  chocolate is the devil.  amen.

Yeah, so the whole goal motiff is getting depressing.  Lets move onto Easter outfits.  Now, I was sitting there rocking my little lady Rebekah today and thinking about Easter outfits for my girls.  Here is what crossed my mind in the span of, oh, about ten seconds...

"Oh, crap, it's Easter on Sunday and I don't have Easter dresses for the girls.  Do I need new Easter dresses for the girls?  Who came up with the whole 'have to have a new, springy, cutsy, pastel dress on Easter Sunday, preferably with a matching bonnet' theme?  Obviously someone who loves shopping for clothes and has way too much time and money on their hands.  So why don't I want to get cute, matching Easter dresses for my girls?  Grandmas would love to see cute pictures of cute girls in cute matching Easter dresses...It's not that I can't afford them...I could...but do I want to spend that money on cute new dresses they don't need?  NO!  I don't want to spend my money on cute matching Easter dresses!  And do I love to shop for cute matching Easter dresses?  NO! Oh, do I feel like the Easter grinch now...

Ah, another depressing topic.  Moving on to the last, more pleasant thought of the day...

Oh, yeah....It's my BIRTHDAY tomorrow!
ok, I give up.

I LOVE HIM!!

This was the closing song for Family Home Evening this week:

Such a little man!

Oh, and for those of you who don't know and can't understand the lyrics:

I am a child of God, and He has sent me here. Has given me an earthly home, with parents kind and dear. Lead me, guide me, walk beside me, help me find the way. Teach me all that I must do, to live with Him someday.

It's pretty much the most well known children's song in our church - comparable to Jesus Loves Me in other denominations. It's one of my favorite hymns.

Kiddos

Kaylee's artwork was chosen to be on display at City Hall! Each elementary school in the city picked a handful of artwork. We got to attend a reception this past Tuesday to oooohhh and aaahhhh. So proud of my little budding artist!

Wednesday mornings usually finds us at the First Baptist open gym time. It is the highlight of Aaron's week. :)

Rebekah just sits and takes it all in.

And if we're lucky we get one of these. :)
Lovin' life with my kiddos!
